The data was downloaded as a coverage and was in the following projection: NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_16N. The dataset was exported to a shapefile, and projected from NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_16N to FGDL Albers HPGN. SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Parcels included in this data base are those for which the District has obtained an interest (fee, easment, flow easement, etc) or have been proposed for acquisition. For more information about the selection process see the land acquisition web site at http://www.sfwmd.gov/site/index.php?id=10. The primary source of parcel boundary lines is the digital parcel boundary data derived from county programs. These are transferred or copied from district copies of the county layers. Parcel information maintained in an Oracle data base has been joined to the GIS spatial layers, and additional fields added, to produce the coverage attribute tables. GeoPlan downloaded this dataset from the South Florida Water Management District website (http://www.sfwmd.gov/org/gisit/index.html) in April 2005. The data downloaded was in shapefile format and in the following projection: NAD 83 State Plane Florida East FIPS 0901 Feet. The dataset was projected from NAD 83 to FGDL Albers HPGN. ST. JOHNS WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: The polygons and lines are from various sources including surveys that have been submitted as a requirement for purchase. Users should check the DIG-SOURCE / COGO-SOURCE attributes within the Polygon Attribute Table to determine the integrity of property boundaries. The Lands Acquisition Maps utilize the "acq_sym" attribute; polygons with no attributes or an empty "acq_sym" field are of no consequence (either they are sliver polygons produced during editing, or they are parcels no longer in public ownership and/or not targeted for acquisition.) GeoPlan downloaded this dataset from the St. Johns River Water Management District website (http://sjr.state.fl.us/programs/data.html) in April 2005. The data was downloaded in shapefile format and was in the following projection: NAD 1983 HARN UTM Zone 17N. The dataset was projected from NAD 1983 HARN UTM Zone 17N to FGDL Albers HPGN SUWANNEE RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: GeoPlan received this dataset via email from the Suwannee River Water Management District in May 2005. The data was in shapefile format and in the following projection: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Florida_North_FIPS_0903_Feet. The dataset was projected to FGDL Albers HPGN. SOUTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: FEE AND LESS-THAN-FEE ACQUISITIONS The ground control surveys used for creating the majority of these data were made by the Survey section of the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). Some surveys were completed by individual survey firms under contract to the seller, but had to meet the Southwest Florida Water Management District Survey Section's requirements. A Professional Surveyor verified these from the Survey section of the SWFWMD. For large multi-parcel acquisition projects, such as the Green Swamp and Annutteliga Hammock, surveys were not obtained for the small tracts (most are less than 20 acres). Sketches were made based on the legal descriptions. These projects are located in Lake, Polk and Hernando counties. Process Date: Unknown ACQUIRED LANDS This layer is derived from the Parcel layer. The ArcINFO DISSOLVE command was used to eliminate internal parcel lines and leave only the exterior project boundaries. A metadata report for the Parcel layer is available from the District. Each new parcel is combined with the existing coverage and attributed within ArcEdit. Topology is created for the coverage using CLEAN or BUILD. Process Date: Unknown PROPOSED LANDS Areas targeted for acquisition were delineated on USGS 7.5 quadrangles or paper copies of USGS color infrared (CIR) DOQQ's. Process Date: Unknown PROPOSED LANDS USGS 1:24,000 Quadrangles were tied down with a minimum of four control points. Project boundaries were digitized onscreen using ArcEdit software with the USGS color infrared DOQQ's as a backdrop. Topology was generated using the ArcINFO BUILD command. Attribute items were added to the feature attribute table and the appropriate attribute assigned to each polygon. The method of choice now is to use heads-up digitizing on-screen with the DOQQ's as a backdrop in ArcEdit.
