Item Description
OBJECTID Internal feature number.

Shape Feature geometry.

LANDUSE15_ The 15 generalized land use code numbers.

COUNT_ Number of individual parcels generalized into new record.

SUM_JV Sum of the just values. Factors to be considered in determining just value are: present cash value; use; location; quantity or size; cost; replacement value of improvements; condition; income from property; and net proceeds if the property is sold. The net proceeds equal the value of the property minus 15% of the true market value. This accounts for the cost of selling the property.

AVG_JV Average of the just values

MIN_JV Minimum just value found

MAX_JV Maximum just value found

SUM_HS SUM_HS is the sum of all of the Homesteaded properties that fell within the polygon.

ACRES Number of Acres.

The Florida Geographic Data Library is a collection of Geospatial Data
compiled by the University of Florida GeoPlan Center with support from
the Florida Department of Transportation. GIS data available in FGDL is
collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (data sources)
who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. The data available in
FGDL may not be the most current version of the data offered by the
data source. University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no guarantees
about the currentness of the data and suggests that data users check
with the data source to see if more recent versions of the data exist.

Furthermore, the GIS data available in the FGDL are provided 'as is'.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
GeoPlan used the available Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) District 2 2007 parcel tax data records
gathered from the State Department of Revenue (DOR) to
create the generalized land use shapefile.

The generalized landuse shapefile was created by taking the
existing parcel data and using Alachua as a template to make
an empty shapefile with the same specs. Next Label Points for
each polygon were created from the parcel data using X-tools
Pro. Based on the 99 available land uses found in the parcel
data's DORUC field, 15 generalized land uses were derived.
A single part dissolve was then run based on the 15 land uses.
Next a spatial Join was run linking the parcel data's label points
to the dissolved 15 land uses.

Summary statistics were created for each field during this join to
represent the: Minimum value found, the Maximum value found,
the Sum value, the Average value of all the Values per dissolved
polygon.

A multi delete script was then run to remove any unwanted fields
and a Descript field was added based on the Generalized Land
Use Class.

From the original DOR Tax Data a new field was created called HS.
HS was calculated based on whether each parcel had a HMSTDVAL
value or not. Where a parcel was Homesteaded the HS field received
a 1 and where it was not it received a 0. SUM_HS is the sum of all of
the Homesteaded properties that fell within the polygon.

Next the Simplify Polygon GeoProcessing Function was used with
the Point Remove Algorithm to remove redundant points, such as
over-digitized vertices found throughout the layer, this function was
also used to compress the file size of the layer via a relatively low
degree of simplification. Then during this simplification process a
tolerance equal to 1-meter was set in order to allow for a maximum
offset of 1m from the original source data. Because the original file
size of the layer prohibited the use of the 'Resolve Errors' option, a
'No Check' option was used during the process; because of this
the algorithm may have introduced small topological errors to the
simplified results. To correct for topological errors created
during this process the Repair Geometry Function was run.

Next each district was loaded to a File Geodatabase. The Acres field was
recalculated and features that were >= 0.001 were exported to a new feature
dataset layer. Topology Rules were then created for the newly exported features
such as a cluster tolerance of 1m, and gaps were not allowed. The topology was
then validated; next the features were exported to shapefiles. These shapefiles
were then run through the repair geometry function to remove self intersections.
After this was completed the ACRES field was repopulated once more using the
Calculated Geometry function.
