Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analysis. DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

The American Community Survey data was downloaded from the Census Bureau in .csv format from http://dataferrett.census.gov/ and the database was compiled using the process steps in http://www2.census.gov/acs2010_5yr/summaryfile/ACS_2006-2010_SF_Tech_Doc.pdf The 2010 TIGER line files were downloaded from the following site: http://www.census.gov/geo/www/tiger/tgrshp2010/tgrshp2010.html When received the data was in Geographic Lat/Long projection. The data was projected to Albers HPGN. The data was joined to the 2010 Tiger/MAF shapefile based on the GEOID10 field. Selected fields (see below) were renamed to be similar to naming from 2000 FGDL census data fields and duplicate fields were deleted. The following tables were used to extract fields for this dataset: B01003 - Total Population B08301 - Means of transportation to work B14002 - Sex By School Enrollment By Level Of School For The Population 3 Years And Over B15002 - Sex By Educational Attainment For The Population 25 Years And Over B16004 - Age By Language Spoken At Home By Ability To Speak English For The Population 5 Years And Over B17017 - Poverty Status In The Past 12 Months By Household Type By Age Of Householder B19001 - Household Income In The Past 12 Months B19013 - Median Household Income In The Past 12 Months B19057 - Public Assistance Income In The Past 12 Months For Households B19113 - Median Family Income In The Past 12 Months B25024 - Units In Structure B25034 - Year Structure Built B25038 - Tenure By Year Householder Moved Into Unit B25044 - Tenure By Vehicles Available B25077 - Median Value C24010 - Sex By Occupation For The Civilian Employed Population 16 Years And Over C17002 - Ratio of Income to Poverty Level in the Past 12 Months The following QaQc procedures were performed: -FGDLAQDATE added based on date GeoPlan acquired data from source -Added PCT and DEN fields based on calculations defined in attribute definitions -Changed name from tl_2010_12_bg10.shp to CENACS_DEC11 --- Because ACS data are survey estimates, the Census Bureau provides margins of error for each ACS estimate to help interpret the reliability of the estimate.
