FEATURE ATTRIBUTE TABLES CODES AND VALUES:

Item
Item Description
OBJECTID Internal feature number.

COUNTY Three digit odd number assigned to each county; used in AQS and AIRS codes to identify location of monitoring sites. Even numbers are assigned when a county changes its name (eg Miami-Dade).

SITE_ID AIRS number of the site; it is composed of the 3 digit county code and the site number

AGENCY Code assigned to the agency that reports the data for the site.
F = State

G = County

H = City

J = Private

N = Federal

ADDRESS City, local area, or institution at which site is located. Often chosen for its to site operators

PARAM1 The 5-digit number assigned to pollutants and other data collected at the monitoring sites. The parameter fields contain codes for pollutants and related information. Each parameter code is composed of six numerals. The first five are an EPA Pollutant Code, while the last is a Monitor Type Code. For example, in the code 424012, the 42401 signifies that the pollutant is SO2 and the 2 signifies that the station is a state or local air monitoring station. Monitor Type Code: 1 NAMS National Air Monitoring Station, 2 SLAMS State and Local Air Monitoring Station, 3 Special Purpose. EPA Pollutant Codes:
11101 = Total Suspended Particles

12128 = Lead

42101 = Carbon Monoxide

42401 = Silicon Dioxide

42601 = Nitrogen Oxide

42603 = Other Oxides of Nitrogen

44201 = Ozone

61101 = Wind Speed

61102 = Wind Direction

61103 = Vector Wind Speed

61104 = Vector Wind Direction

81102 = Particulate Matter < 10 microns

USER NOTES:
This data is provided 'as is'. GeoPlan relied on the integrity
of the original data layer's topology
This data is provided 'as is' by GeoPlan and is complete to our
knowledge.
GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.
The original file with over 500 sites contained all the sites that monitored
at one time or another. This most recent file only contains the sites that
monitored at the time the file was submitted. Sites are opened and closed
frequently as needs, conditions, rules, or property policies change.

Site locations were derived using two different methods. Most of the sites
were derived by GPS units, and the rest through interpolation from 1:24,000
USGS 7.5' Quad maps. Therefore, these locations are for illustrative purposes
only and should not be used for legal determinations.

Ambient air monitoring data are provided to the EPA, to meet federal
requirements, and to communicate air quality to other levels of government,
air monitoring professionals, researchers, medical professionals and the
public to ensure that adequate information regarding the quality of the air
is available to justify modifications in planning, development, and personal
behavior.

THE DATA INCLUDED IN FGDL ARE 'AS IS' AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED
AS LEGALLY BINDING. THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA GEOPLAN CENTER SHALL
NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF USING,
MODIFYING, CONTRIBUTING OR DISTRIBUTING THE MATERIALS.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
Locational data was originally obtain through interpolation from 1:24000
USGS quad sheets, but most of this data has been updated using GPS
units. The data ate maintained on EXCEL spread sheets, which are converted
to data base files and used in ARC GIS where the LAT/LONS are converted
to ALBERS coordinates. Updates of GPS data are available every two years.
Process Date: 199708

Obtained MS Excel spreadsheet with latitude, longitude information of 138 air monitoring sites from Nancy Shelton (DARM) . Imported this spreadsheet as a table into a MS Access database and used Access table in ArcMap to create a shapefile using the Table2Point tool. This shapefile was then inserted into ArcSDE. Process Date: 20050721
This dataset was downloaded by the GeoPlan Center from the FDEP website (http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gis/datadir.asp) on 08/03/2006. When received the data set was in the following projection: Albers NAD 83 HARN. - Added the field DESCRIPT based on full description of county code in COUNTY field. - Added the field FGDLAQDATE based on date downloaded from source. - Upcased all text in the attribute table. - Data set was renamed airmon_jul05 from ambient_air_monitoring_sites - Deleted fields OFFICECODE, PARAM7, PARAM8, PARAM9, PARAM10 as they contained no data. Process Date: 20070117
