FID Internal feature number.

Shape Data attribute inherent to the ESRI shapefile format, which defines the data as a point, polyline, or polygon.

OFFICECODE Location of site: 05=Northwest District, 10=Northeast District, 15=Central District, 17=Volusia County, 20=Southwest District, 20=Southwest District, 21=Polk County, 22=Pasco County, 23=Hernando County, 25=Southeast District, 30South District, 35=Northeast Branch Office, 40=Jacksonville, 45=Pinellas County, 50=Hillsborough County, 55=Manatee County, 60=Sarasota County, 65=Palm Beach County, 70=Broward County, 75=Dade County, 80=Martin County, 85=Private Industry, 90=Orange County, 95=Brevard County

SITE_ID Undefined by source.

AGENCY Description of type of agency: F=State, G=County, H=City, J=Private, N=Federal.

ADDRESS Address of monitoring site.

PARAM1-10 The parameter fields contain codes for pollutants and related information. Each parameter code is composed of six numerals. The first five are an EPA Pollutant Code, while the last is a Monitor Type Code. For example, in the code 424012, the 42401 signifies that the pollutant is Silicon Dioxide and the 2 signifies that the station is a state or local air monitoring station (See monitor type code descriptions below).
EPA Pollutant Codes = 11101=Total Suspended Particles, 12128=Lead, 42101=Carbon Monoxide, 42401=Silicon Dioxide, 42601=Nitrogen Oxide, 42602=Nitrogen Dioxide, 42603=Other Oxides of Nitrogen, 44201=Ozone, 61101=Wind Speed, 61102=Wind Direction, 61103=Vector Wind Speed, 6110=Vector Wind Direction, 81102=Particulate Matter < 10 microns

Monitor Type Code = 1=NAMS National Air Monitoring Station, 2=SLAMS State and Local Air Monitoring Station, 3=Special Purpose

NAME County name corresponding to FGDLCODE

FGDLCODE alpha-numerical code representing a county in the state of Florida (the field "NAME" defines which county that number represents).

USER NOTES:
Relied on the integrity of the attribute information within the original data layer. This data layer was released in FGDL Version 2003 as AMBAIR.

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modelling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact section of this documentation. For more information regarding scale and accuracy, see our webpage at: http://geoplan.ufl.edu/education.html. These data are based on interpretation of available information and should not be construed as legally binding.

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

Dataset was downloaded by GeoPlan in shapefile format from FDEP (http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gis/datadir.asp) Converted the field COUNTY to FGDLCODE equivilent attribute labels, then deleated COUNTY field.
Added the field NAME to define the attributes of the FGDLCODE field.
The dataset's prior history is below.

Explanation of Procedures Used to Transform the Data: Locational data was obtained by two methods. Sites in Broward and Hillsborough Counties were obtained using a Trimble PRO/XL GPS unit with differential correction. The rest of the sites were derived through interpolation from 1 : 24,000 USGS 7.5' Quad Sheets. Original spreadsheet of Ambient Air Monitoring Sites contained sites in both UTM Zone 16 and UTM Zone 17, so records were separated into two tables. In ArcView 3.0a, the tables were used to create event themes which were converted to shapefiles. In ARC/INFO 7.1.1, the shape files were converted to coverages using the SHAPEARC command, each were projected from their respective UTM Zones into DEP's Albers projection. Now in a common projection, the two coverages were merged using the APPEND command. Process Date:
GeoPlan, during the QA/QC process included the following aspects: 1.) Removed items X and Y. 2.) Altered precision of Decimal Items to 0, since there were no fractional values. 3.) (All values contained in decimal fields were whole numbers). 4.) Dropped items w/ no values: PARAM9, PARAM10 5.) COUNTY item was dropped, and FGDLCODE and NAME items were added to correspond to old COUNTY item Process Date:
