Geodataset Name: SW_WOD_OCT11
Geodataset Type: SHAPEFILE
Geodataset Feature: Point
Feature Count: 350
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This data layer details the locations of permits required when an entity needs to connect to, withdraw water from, discharge water into, place construction within or across, or otherwise make use of a "Work of the District". A "Work of the District" is any lake, stream, other water body, control structure, or other facility owned and maintained by the District or adopted by the Governing Board. Maintained by Processing and Records staff and mapped to 1:24,000 USGS quadrangles.

USER NOTES:
Visual inspection of source materials during redrafting helps to identify many
potential problems. These errors were then corrected prior to digitizing or scanning.
The majority of applicants submit some type of map displaying the location of
the equipment or mechanism that is to be installed at the selected site.

ArcINFO commands DESCRIBE, LABELERRORS, and NODEERRORS are
used to determine if there were any topological errors in the coverages, as well
as to determine the presence of any edit masks.
There are no significant omissions.
GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.

This data layer was created for resource management and cartographic
purposes to show the location of permits for use on a "Work of the District".

Visual comparison between checkplot, digital orthophoto quarter quadrangles
(DOQQ), and/or digital USGS quad maps (DRG) to the original source quad
map has estimated accuracy to +/- 100 meters. Schedule is updated on a
continuous basis as new permits are received, processed and issued. Point
location estimate based on assumed accuracy of USGS source quads
(+/- 40 feet) and additional error incurred in drafting/registration/digitizing
procedures, as well as consideration of source quad.

This data is provided 'as is' and its vertical positional accuracy
has not been verified by GeoPlan

These data were not collected under the supervision of a licensed Professional
Surveyor and Mapper. Use of these data requires a general understanding of GIS.

The Florida Geographic Data Library is a collection of Geospatial Data
compiled by the University of Florida GeoPlan Center with support from
the Florida Department of Transportation. GIS data available in FGDL is
collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (data sources)
who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. The data available in
FGDL may not be the most current version of the data offered by the
data source. University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no guarantees
about the currentness of the data and suggests that data users check
with the data source to see if more recent versions of the data exist.

Furthermore, the GIS data available in the FGDL are provided 'as is'.

or representations as to the truth, accuracy or completeness of the data
provided by the data sources. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center

modifying, contributing or distributing the materials.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
All permit boundaries and features are checked on the original source
materials for assurance. The permits are then transferred to USGS 7.5'
quadrangles for digital development.

The quad sheets are tied down and registered using the four corner
coordinates of the quad as control points. Permits are digitized. The
BUILD or CLEAN command is used to create topology.
Process Date: Unknown

An enterprise geodatabase was designed and implemented. Coverages were converted into feature classes using ArcCatalog 8.3. The feature classes were created new in a feature dataset, with column names, shape type, grid size, and projection information defined during creation. An X/Y Domain and Precision were set at MinX: -700,000; MinY: 2,000,000; Precision: 1000. Z-Values were set at MinZ: -20; Precision: 1000. The Grid Tile Size is 1,000. Data was then loaded into the feature classes from the coverages using the 'Load Data' tool in ArcCatalog 8.3. Process Date: 20040113
In October 2009, the District's enterprise SDE vector data layers were re-projected from UTM to State Plane Feet. At this same time the data layers were loaded into SDE using ESRI's Spatial Data Type. The new data type allows users to use SQL queries for spatial inquiries. Process Date: 20091002
This dataset was received by the GeoPlan Center via ftp on 10/14/2011. The data was originally in shapefile format. When received the data set was in the following projection: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Florida_West_FIPS_0902_Feet. The data was projected to Albers NAD 83 HARN. - Added the field DESCRIPT based on WODPERMIT - Added the field FGDLAQDATE based on date downloaded from source. - Data set was renamed sw_wod_oct11 from WOD - Deleted OBJECTID field Process Date: 20111014
