TITLE: COMPREHENSIVE EVERGLADES RESTORATION PLAN (CERP) PROJECT BOUNDARIES - APRIL 2011

Geodataset Name: SFWMD_BDWMDCRP_APR11
Geodataset Type: SDE Feature Class
Geodataset Feature: Polygon
Feature Count: 73
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) is a massive environmental effort encompassing many organizations and projects. Coordination of the projects is one of the main objectives, and GIS is a key technology to coordinate the work. This coverage is an official map of the boundaries of the CERP projects, including Acceler8 projects, intended to be used by all researchers and collaborators in the CERP process. Attribution on the map shows the project names, key contacts, and other critical information for over 80 different projects. Additional information for each project and for the many programs involved is available on the internet at referenced sites - in particular www.evergladesplan.org. The updated version of this layer is maintained by the Land Acquisition Program on an Oracle SDE server, feature dataset is SFWBNDS and a feature class named CERPBnds. The official layer name in the SFWMD's GIS library is 'bdwmdcrp'. This is an update to the FGDL layer SFWMD_BDWMDCRP_JAN11.

USER NOTES:
An accuracy assessment is not available, and not particularly relevant for this
layer. The CERP project boundary lines and project attribution are updated
regularly. The source and quality of the linework is captured in the attribution, so
that users are made aware of potential accuracy concerns. This data meets the
standards set forth for Spatial Data Standards (SDS).
This data of project boundaries is intended to include all known CERP projects
that have a definable spatial extent. An assessment of completeness is not
available, but the author is not aware of any errors of omission. This data is
continually updated by Land Resources as new information becomes available.

Changes from CERP Guidance Memorandum 002.01 Dated 10-15-2 are reflected
herein.
GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.
For more information about the CERP Program or the projects shown in this data
layer, users should visit the applicable intraweb and internet web sites. A central
source for CERP information is found at the site www.evergladesplan.org. A
complete list of CERP projects is found at www.evergladesplan.org/pm/projects/index.shtml,
which contains links to management plans, calendars, related projects, a glossary of terms,
and a tool to select projects by interactive map query.

Contacts listed for each project shown in the database attached to this map (see
attributes section). This data meets the standards set forth for Spatial Data
Standards (SDS). The referenced data steward for this spatial layer, and
associated development staff. The metadata specialist on staff at GIS Services
Division, SFWMD. The contacts and resources listed on the District's web site at
www.sfwmd.gov.

www.sofia.usgs.gov/metadata/index.html.

Maintaining consistency of information sources and products is one of the main
objectives of the CERP strategy. The widespread use of digital formats and
modern communications makes it possible to proliferate an unmanageable number
of different versions in a short period of time. Data stewardship, centralized
tracking and distribution, and improved documentation are some of the preventive
measures that data managers will use to insure that consistent versions of high
quality data are available to all stakeholders. This data layer of project boundaries,
which is a key layer for nearly all CERP applications, is a prime example of that
strategy.

This data is provided 'as is' and its horizontal positional accuracy
has not been verified by GeoPlan

The level of accuracy of the linework is captured in the attribute 'LevelID'. For
more detail see attributes section overview.(SFWMD)

This data is provided 'as is' and its vertical positional accuracy
has not been verified by GeoPlan

This data is a conceptual tool utilized for project development only.
This data is not self-executing or binding, and does not otherwise
affect the interests of any persons including any vested rights or
existing uses of real property.

The Florida Geographic Data Library is a collection of Geospatial Data
compiled by the University of Florida GeoPlan Center with support from
the Florida Department of Transportation. GIS data available in FGDL is
collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (data sources)
who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. The data available in
FGDL may not be the most current version of the data offered by the
data source. University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no guarantees
about the currentness of the data and suggests that data users check
with the data source to see if more recent versions of the data exist.

Furthermore, the GIS data available in the FGDL are provided 'as is'.
The University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no warranties, guaranties
or representations as to the truth, accuracy or completeness of the data
provided by the data sources. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center
makes no representations or warranties about the quality or suitability
of the materials, either expressly or implied, including but not limited
to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose, or non-infringement. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center
shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of using,
modifying, contributing or distributing the materials.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
A number of survey/mapping processes have been used to acquire this data,
varying with each project. For more information about how the acquired data is
prepared and added in to the data set, contact the data stewards in Land
Resources.
Process Date:
GeoPlan downloaded this dataset from the South Florida Water Management District Data Catalog website on August 4th, 2011. http://my.sfwmd.gov/gisapps/sfwmdxwebdc/dataview.asp or ftp://ftp.sfwmd.gov/pub/gisdata/bdwmdcrp.zip. The data downloaded was in shapefile format. The data was originally named: bdwmdcrp.shp The data was in the following projection: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Florida_East_FIPS_0901 - Reprojected to the FGDL Albers NAD83 HARN projection. - All records were upcased. - Deleted OBJECTID field - Changed original layer name from BDWMDCRR to SFWMD_BDWMDCRP_APR11 - A DESCRIPT field was added based on PROJ_NAME - A FGDLAQDATE field was added based on date of download. Please note that the metadata was not updated from the previous version of this layer. Process Date: 20110804
