GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This data set contains parcels owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) from 67 individual counties obtained through the state DOR 2009 tax data. Please Note: This layer has not been ground-truthed and should not be the sole data source used to identify FDOT owned lands. There are known errors in this layer where parcels included may not be owned by the FDOT, but rather the local transportation authority or the county. Some parcels identified in this layer have been assigned their land use designation based on the owner of the property rather than their current use. In such cases, these lots may actually be vacant and/or used for parking or other purposes related to the owner. This dataset does not represent a 100% inventory of FDOT owned property. This layer is an update of the previously released FGDL layer "PAR_FDOT_07.shp".

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
GeoPlan downloaded this dataset from the Florida
Department of Revenue (FDOR) in 2009 from their 
FTP site ftp://sdrftp03.dor.state.fl.us/

The dataset was in shapefile format,
and was in the following projection: State Plane 
Projection NAD 83, Feet (north, east, and west). 
The dataset was projected to FGDL Albers HPGN.

The .CSV NAL files were downloaded and joined to the spatial data 
via the PARCELNO field.

Added fields; AYRBLT, LUCODE, ACRES, and DESCRIPT.
- Calculated AYRBLT based on the parcels actual year 
  built from various other tables.
- Calculated LUCODE based on the parcels land use value 
  DORUC, added value 100 for uses not covered.
- Calculated DESCRIPT based on the FDOR description for 
  the DORUC values.

GeoPlan used the available 67-county 2009 parcel tax data records gathered from the State Department of Revenue (DOR) to create the parcels owned by the Florida Department of Transportation shapefile. Parcels were selected based their attribute(s) from the following fields; ONAME, ONADDR1, ONADDR2. The following criteria were searched for within each of the three fields.
