This data set contains Agriculture lands based on a selection from North West Water Management District (2016) Land use - Land Cover. The following selection was performed: "FLUCCS >= 2000 and FLUCCS < 3000"
This dataset, created by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration, is an inventory of Land Use - Land Cover classified in the State of Florida's Northwest Florida Water Management District. This imagery contains natural color orthophotos covering counties in north Florida (Leon County imagery between 1/18/2015-2/05/2015, Eglin Air Force Base NAIP 2015 imagery) and/or 2016 Florida digital orthoimagery captured from October 2015 to March 2016. Classifications are provided for level 1, 2, 3 and a few level 4 (indicated in Land Use and Secondary Code fields) land uses.
Classifications for the following Counties were based on imagery "flown" on the listed dates: Bay (01-05-2016 to 01-29-2016), Calhoun (10-03-2015 to 11-11-2015), Escambia (11-20-2015), Franklin (12-09-2015 to 01-19-2016), Gadsden (11-13-2015 to 11-29-2015), Gulf (11-20-2015 to 12-19-2015), Holmes (12-04-2015 to 03-06- 2016), Jackson (10-03-2015 to 11-11-2015), Jefferson (11-13-2015 to 11-23-2015), Leon (01-18-2015 to 02-05-2015), Liberty (01-19-2016 to 02-11-2016), Okaloosa (12-06-2015 to 02-06-2016), Santa Rosa (12-07-2015 to 02-06-2016), Wakulla (11 -16-2015 to 11-23-2015), Walton (12-04-2015 to 03-06-2016), Washington (12-04- 2015 to 03-06-2016).

A copy of the 2012-2013 NWFWMD db was used as a base in conjunction with 2015-2016 digital orthoimagery to update the 2015-2016 database. Three new codes have also been added-- 2190: Wildlife Strip Crops; 7470: Dikes and Levees; 8315: Electric Power Sub Stations. A number of modification to existing code descriptions have also been made and these modifications can be found in the Photo Interpreter Key assigned to the 2015-2016 data. The GeoPlan Center received the original dataset NWFWMD_LANDUSE_2015_2016.shp from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Watershed Restoration via FTP on June 12th, 2018. Florida Department of Environmental Protection Geospatial Open Data: http://geodata.dep.state.fl.us/datasets/northwest-florida-water-management-district-nwfwmd-2015-2016-land-use OR http://publicfiles.dep.state.fl.us/otis/gis/data/NWFWMD_LANDUSE_2015_2016.zip The dataset was originally in the FDEP Albers projection which matched the FGDL Albers projection so the FDEP .prj file was swapped out for the FGDL .prj file. Next the records in the attribute table were UPPERCASED. Below is the original FDEP NWFWMD file structure: ITEM NAME OBJECTID SHAPE LANDUSE_CODE LANDUSE_DESCRIPTION SECONDARY_CODE LEVEL_1_LANDUSE LEVEL_2_LANDUSE LEVEL_3_LANDUSE SECONDARY_DESCRIPTION LANDUSE_NAME Shape_Length Shape_Area Below is the crosswalk table between the original file structure and the new file structure: ORIGINAL NAME NEW NAME OBJECTID Deleted LANDUSE_CODE FLUCCS SECONDARY_CODE OTHER LANDUSE_DESCRIPTION LANDUSE_DE SECONDARY_DESCRIPTION SECONDARY2 LEVEL_1_LANDUSE FLUCCS_L1 LEVEL_2_LANDUSE FLUCCS_L2 LEVEL_3_LANDUSE FLUCCS_L3 Additionally GeoPlan added and populated the following fields: SOURCE SOURCE2 LEVEL1 LEVEL2 LEVEL3 FLUCCSCOMP ACRES DESCRIPT FGDLAQDATE GeoPlan removed any carrot symbols in the attribute field and replaced them with the correct verbal description. GeoPlan renamed the layer from NWFWMD_LANDUSE_2015_2016.shp to LU_NWFWMD_2016.shp match the FGDL Land Use data layer structure.
The following SDE spatial view command was run: sdetable -o create_view -T LU_NW_AGRICULTURE_16 -t "LU_NWFWMD_2016" -c "*" -w "FLUCCS >= 2000 and FLUCCS < 3000"

The land use and land cover classification code as defined in the Florida DOT's FLUCCS classification system. The following represents the original field from the source Water Management District layer. NWFWMD = [LANDUSE_CODE] - The primary classification type assignment. This may be either a land use classification or a land cover classification in the case that keys to identification indicate a physiographic feature. NWFWMD uses an adopted classification scheme, for more information on the adopted classification scheme please the Attribute Overview Description Section.
GeoPlan
The following represents the original field from the source Water Management District Layer. NWFWMD = [SECONDARY_CODE] - A secondary classification assigned to account for the fact that any given polygon may have more than one use or a use and a physiographic cover.
GeoPlan
A brief definition of the class code: description of the primary land use or land cover [LANDUSE_DESCRIPTION].
FDEP
A brief definition of the class code: description of the secondary land use or land cover [SECONDARY_CODE].

GeoPlan
Level 3 land use description, based on the FDOT classification schema. There is a possibility that the FDOT Level 3 description does not match that of the Water Management District, for those occurrences this discrepancy has been identified in the FLUCCSCOMP field.

This field represents a comparison between the dataset's FLUCCS code description and the FDOT FLUCCS code description. Where these two descriptions differed a number one was inserted.

The Florida Geographic Data Library is a collection of Geospatial Data compiled by the University of Florida GeoPlan Center with support from the Florida Department of Transportation. GIS data available in FGDL is collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (data sources) who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. The data available in FGDL may not be the most current version of the data offered by the data source. University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no guarantees about the currentness of the data and suggests that data users check with the data source to see if more recent versions of the data exist. Furthermore, the GIS data available in the FGDL are provided 'as is'. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no warranties, guaranties or representations as to the truth, accuracy or completeness of the data provided by the data sources. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no representations or warranties about the quality or suitability of the materials, either expressly or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of using, modifying, contributing or distributing the materials. A note about data scale: Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact section of this documentation. For more information regarding scale and accuracy, see our webpage at: http://geoplan.ufl.edu/education.html
