USER NOTES:

The original coverage contained data for the SE United States region and was clipped to those areas in and
around Florida to conform to FGDL standards.

FGDL QUALITY ASSURANCE STATUS:

-Reprojection into FGDL format
-Tolerance set to FGDL standards
-Added DESCRIPT item equal to the buoy name given by the website
-Renamed coverage from DATABUOY to DABUOY

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

The tables were copied into MS Excel, geographic coordinates calculated, saved as Dbase files and used to generate an ARC/INFO coverage. Once this coverage was created, several buoys had to be added due to discrepancies in the published text table. The table on the website appears to be updated on a monthly (or more frequently) time frame, so the data present in this coverage is only current up to the publication date noted. NOTE: buoys that have been disestablished have been removed from this data layer. Buoys temporarily disabled by hurricanes remain in this coverage.
