GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains the Florida subset of the alternative fuel facilities. Through a nationwide network of local coalitions, Clean Cities provides project assistance to help stakeholders in the public and private sectors deploy alternative and renewable fuels, idle-reduction measures, fuel economy improvements, and emerging transportation technologies. Department of Energy collects this data as part of the Projects undertaken by Clean Cities coalitions and stakeholders to ensure customers access to clean alternative energy. This data can be found at the Department of Energy Alternative Fuels Data Center Web Feature Service: http://www.afdc.energy.gov/locator/stations/Clean Cities is the deployment arm of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office. This is an update to the layer altfuels_2009.

BD = Biodiesel (B20 and above)

CNG = Compressed Natural Gas

E85 = Ethanol (E85)

ELEC = Electric

HY = Hydrogen

LNG = Liquefied Natural Gas

LPG = Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Propane)


Station_Na The name of the station.

Street_Add The street address of the station's location.

Intersecti Brief additional information about how to locate the station.

CITY City in which the facility is located

State The two character U.S. state or Canadian province code of the station's location.

ZIP ZIP code in which the facility is located

Plus4 The plus-4 portion of the station's ZIP code (U.S. ZIP codes only).

Station_Ph The phone number of the station.

Status_Cod The current status of the station, given as code values
E = Open: The station is open.

P = Planned: The station is not yet open, but plans to carry alternative fuel in the future, or the station is temporarily out of service. See the "Expected Date" field for an anticipated open date.


Expected_D For planned stations, the date the station is expected to open or start carrying alternative fuel.

Groups_Wit A description of who is allowed to access the station and other station access information.

Access_Day Hours of operation for the station.

Cards_Acce A space-separated list of payment methods accepted. Payment methods are given as code values as described below:
A = American Express

D = Discover

M = MasterCard

BD_Blends For biodiesel stations, the level of biodiesel blends the station provides.

NG_Fill_Ty For CNG stations, the type of dispensing capability available, given as code values.
Q = Quick Fill

T = Timed fill

B = Both: quick fill and timed fill


NG_PSI For CNG stations, a space separated list of PSI pressures available.

EV_Level1 For electric stations, the number of Level 1 EVSE (standard 110V outlet).

EV_Level2 For electric stations, the number of Level 2 EVSE (J1772 connector).

EV_Network For electric stations, the name of the EVSE network, if applicable.

EV_Netwo_1 For electric stations, the name of the EVSE network, if applicable.

Geocode_St A rating indicating the approximate accuracy of the latitude and longitude for the station's address, given as code values
GPS = The location is from a real GPS readout at the station.

200-9 = Premise (building name, property name, shopping center, etc.) level accuracy.

200-8 = Address level accuracy.

200-7 = Intersection level accuracy.

200-6 = Street level accuracy.

200-5 = ZIP code (postal code) level accuracy

200-4 = Town (city, village) level accuracy.

200-3 = Sub-region (county, municipality, etc.) level accuracy.

200-2 = Region (state, province, prefecture, etc.) level accuracy.

200-1 = Country level accuracy.

200-0 = Unknown accuracy.


LATITUDE The latitude of the point expressed as a signed real number. This value is in decimal degrees with negative values indicating South latitude and positive values indicating North latitude

LONGITUDE The longitude of the point expressed as a signed real number. This value is in decimal degrees with negative values indicating West longitude and positive values indicating East longitude

Date_Last The date the station's details were last confirmed.

ID A unique identifier for this specific station.

Updated_At The time the station's details were last updated (ISO 8601 format).

Owner_Type A space-separated list of payment methods accepted. Payment methods are given as code values.
P = Privately owned

T = Utility owned

FG = Federal government owned

LG = Local government owned

SG = State government owned

J = Jointly owned (combination of owner types)


Federal_Ag If the station is owned by a federal agency, a record for the federal agency that owns this station. See federal_1 for response details.

with the state dataset, to determine that the spatial data and 
attribute data were accurate.

A note about data scale: 

Scale is an important factor in data usage.  Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data. 

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
In July 2013 GeoPlan obtained the data from the Bureau of 
Transportation Statistics (BTS) in CDROM format. The data 
was in the following geographical coordinate system:
WGS 1984 Datum, Units: Degrees.  During the QA/QC process
GeoPlan performed the following tasks:

- Records were selected where "State" = 'FL' to select only features in Florida and
  exported. 
- One record that was outside of Florida was removed
- Reprojected to FGDL Albers HPGN.
- All records in the table were upcased.
- Added DESCRIPT based on [Station_Na] & " [FUEL TYPE: " & [Fuel_Type] &"]" 
  where FUEL field was based on unabbreviated FUELTYPE field
- Added FGDLAQDATE based on date received from source
- Renamed file altfuels_2013 from altfuels
